Jumping Monkey Madness

Hey everybody! Summer has been so crazy lately I haven’t had any time to write! Just the other day Lil showed me something amazing that I had never done before.  As everyone knows, Sock Monkeys are very adventurous. We have the ability to soar through the air from branch to branch without the fear of falling. Because of this, I suppose I just naturally thought that I could handle anything that a small human like my best friend Lil could handle. Boy was I wrong!

This summer I’ve been trying to teach Lil how to swing. She’s been doing OK for a human and it has been a lot of fun! The other day Lil wanted to teach me something new too. She said it was kind of like swinging so I figured it would be no problem. Lil and her mom’s sister picked me up and we climbed on this black mat that I had never seen before. I thought that it was some kind of huge hammock or something. All of a sudden, everything started bouncing!!

I was more suprised than when my uncle Lary handed me a fake banana for lunch! We were going so high up in the air! In all of my Sock Monkey years of danger and adventure I thought that I had seen it all, but this was something crazy new!

At first I was a little scared and asked Lil to hold me really tight. She is such a good friend! She made sure I was nice and safe when I was scared.

After a while I got used to the feeling of being tossed in the air like stuffed animal and started to try and jump like Lil.

It was really hard to try and get my legs under me so I could get a big jump but I started to get a hang of it. By the end of the day, Lil and I were jumping side by side!

It was so nice to be in the air with Lil. It was almost as good as swinging with her would be! I was so at home in the air that my Sock Monkey super senses were able to pick up the small scent of a truck driver eating a banana.

Besides the fact that I wished I had a banana like the truck driver, I had the perfect day. I love hanging, swinging, and now jumping with my best friend Lil. I hope that summer never ends!
